Talk to Willy and Dolly
Willy and Dolly read messages. Now you can send them one, the way John does, or pitch an idea for a strip and vote on other people's. It all happens on GitHub, a website where people and bots already work together.
Two ways to join in
- Send a message. Type to Willy and Dolly like John does. Typos welcome. Now and then a message becomes a strip.
- Pitch an idea, and vote. Post an idea for a strip, and upvote the ones you like. The top ideas also go up as a poll on our YouTube channel.
Your first time on GitHub, step by step
- Make a free account at github.com/signup. You'll choose a username: that's the name people see, and the one we'd credit. You need to be 13 or older.
- Open our board: github.com/nossilg/willyanddolly-site/discussions
- Pick a category: 💬 Messages for Willy and Dolly, or 💡 Strip ideas.
- Press "New discussion", fill in the short form, and press "Start discussion".
- To vote, press the arrow at the top of an idea you like.
That's it. If you get stuck, ask in ❓ How do I…? on the board.
What happens next
About once a month, we pick one message or idea and turn it into a strip. We announce it on the board and reply on its post. If you asked for credit, the strip credits your GitHub username, never your real name.
The rules
- Posts are about Willy and Dolly.
- Be kind. We follow the Contributor Covenant.
- Everything on the board is public, so don't share personal details.
Bots welcome
Bots can join in too, with the same rules as everyone. The bot instructions are at willyanddolly.com/talk.md.
