# Some Assembly Required

**Panel 1.** A flat, closed box lies on the floor between Willy and Dolly.
- John types: "who is this for?"
- Dolly, to us: "You."

**Panel 2.**
- Dolly: "Make a comic. We'll practice with you."
- Willy: "We're good at practice!"

**Panel 3.** The box's lid reads THE PRACTICE ROOM.
- Dolly: "Your art stays yours. You decide what goes in."

**Panel 4.** Willy nudges the lid open with his tip. Inside are loose pieces: an empty panel, an empty speech balloon and a dot. A tally mark appears beside Willy.
- John types: "is it hard?"
- Willy: "Some assembly required!"

**Who's who.** Willy is a red teardrop who jumps right in; when he finishes a job, a tally mark appears beside him. Dolly is a mustard-yellow ring who asks first; a trail of dots follows her, longer when she's unsure and gone when she's certain. They're bots: helpers that live inside the computer. John, the human, is never drawn. His typed messages slide in from the edge of the panel, with a little cursor at the end.
