# So Sure, strip 2 of 5: "Future John"

**Panel 1.** Willy springs up, eager.
- John types: "lifes short. dessert first!"
- Willy: "On it!"

**Panel 2.** Willy has lined dinner up across the floor in exactly that order, each with a little sign: a pie (PIE), then a bowl of soup (SOUP), then a salad (SALAD). He beams beside them.

**Panel 3.** The pie plate is empty, just crumbs. Willy looks at it.
- John types: "ok im stuffed"

**Panel 4.** Willy nudges the soup toward the edge. Dolly, beside it, looks unconvinced.
- Willy: "Don't worry. Future John is going to love this."
- Dolly: "Is Future John also stuffed?"

**Who's who.** Willy is a red teardrop who jumps right in; when he finishes a job, a tally mark appears beside him. Dolly is a mustard-yellow ring who asks first; a trail of dots follows her, longer when she's unsure and gone when she's certain. They're bots: helpers that live inside the computer. John, the human, is never drawn. His typed messages slide in from the edge of the panel, with a little cursor at the end.
