# So Sure (episode 0.25): the short, told in words

A 3-minute cartoon with sound and no narrator. It plays the five "So Sure" strips as five chapters, then shows them together on one page. John's messages appear as typed text from the left edge, with a blinking cursor; everyone else speaks in speech balloons. Times are approximate.

## Opening titles (0:00)
"Willy and Dolly" appears one word at a time. Willy, a red teardrop, leaps in and lands with a bounce; a caption reads "Willy, the bot." Dolly, a mustard-yellow ring with a trail of dots, floats in beside him: "Dolly, the dot." A message types itself in from the left edge: "hi its john!!", and a caption reads "And the human who types to them: John." The title comes back with "So Sure" typed beneath it, then fades to an empty room.

## Chapter 1: Misc 7 (0:19)
- John types: "just put it in misc. future me will sort it"

Willy nudges a page onto a pile labelled MISC. Then the piles multiply in a quick, growing rhythm, each new label popping on: MISC 2, MISC 3, and on up to MISC 7, until they fill the room. Dolly's trail of dots grows longer and longer. A pause.
- John types: "future me here. what is misc 7"

Willy and Dolly look at each other.

## Chapter 2: Future John (0:51)
- John types: "lifes short. dessert first!"
- Willy springs up: "On it!"

Willy slides a pie, a bowl of soup and a salad into a row, in exactly that order, and a little sign pops on by each. The pie disappears in three soft bites.
- John types: "ok im stuffed"

Willy nudges the soup forward.
- Willy: "Don't worry. Future John is going to love this."
- Dolly: "Is Future John also stuffed?"

## Chapter 3: All In (1:24)
A little table with a bag of chips and a bowl of dip.
- John types: "dont worry, my chips are all in"

Willy beams and nudges the whole bag into the dip, with a satisfying plop.
- Willy: "All in!"

A quiet moment: the bag stands upright in the dip.
- John types: "lol i meant like poker. honestly that works too"

## Chapter 4: The Tidy Robots (1:50)
The room is a mess: the misc piles, the soup and salad, the chips in the dip, plus socks and a cup.
- John types: "dont bother tidying. the tidy robots are coming"

Willy and Dolly wait by the edge of the room as if by a door, thrilled.
- Willy: "I can't wait to meet them!"

Dolly looks at the mess, then at Willy. Willy is already nudging a blue sock toward the basket.
- Willy: "We came!"

## Chapter 5: Which Robots (2:20)
The room is tidy now, the blue sock half-folded on the floor.
- John types: "everyone at work started smoking"

Three little paper slips come in from the edges in another hand, John's coworkers: "the robots will fix it later", "robots'll fix it", "later, the robots".

Willy and Dolly search the room for the robots: Willy turning to peer over his shoulder, Dolly lifting up to look at the ceiling and under the table. Then they turn to each other. Willy, small, beside the sock:
- Willy: "We're still learning to fold socks."

## The page (2:46)
The view pulls back, and all five strips appear together, one above another.

## Next time (2:52)
Willy and Dolly face us.
- Dolly: "Thanks for watching "So Sure"!"
- Willy springs: "Next time: "Someplace Else"!"

A card reads "Willy and Dolly", "Episode 0.25 · So Sure", "Next: Someplace Else" and willyanddolly.com.

What inspired it: Inspired by a remark on a TV news show that some AI researchers had taken up smoking to show how sure they are that AI will fix everything later, cancer included. Willy and Dolly take 'the robots will fix it later' at its word.
